Hi, I’m Darren

After returning from the first Gulf War I was not fit for society and literally looked for a way out of life. I found a combat martial arts temple in Japan and headed there thinking if I were lucky it might end my life in a training session. But while there, something else happened.

The training incorporated Buddhist principles of impermanence and as I trained compassion and meaning started making their way through the cracks of the broken human I was. Instead, I saw a way through the pain.

Since then a lot has changed but what hasn’t is my ability to find meaning in the mundane and guide others into relief, all through service. Whether that be through organizing homeless outreaches, sharing principles through zombie stories at comic book conventions, or training athletes to use their power within for greater gains physically, it’s all to ease the restlessness within.

I never saw myself becoming a monk, but it was my path to freedom.

Your path to freedom will look different and it’s my desire to guide you there, be that through my books, one-on-one Mind Pump training, veterans events, or running into me at a CON event, I meet you were you are.

New Book Release.

In Darren’s newest and most ambitious book yet, he tells of how after a divorce left him broken and suicidal, Darren decided to put his life back together and find happiness. The simple, life changing methods he used became the basis of this new book series.

So what exactly is The Happiness Program?  The Happiness Program is a straightforward, easy to follow guide to help you burst out of your comfort zone, to get some leverage on yourself, and to make some real changes in your life.  You don’t need to be a Buddhist to do it, you don’t need to be an athlete, or anything else like that.  This is a program for everyone.
